In Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2010, the five most valuable brands are:
- Coca-Cola
- IBM
- Microsoft
- GE
How valuable are they? Anywhere from nearly $43 million to $70 million. In fact, every one of these brands account for more than half of the company’s market capitalization.
How did they become so valuable? By both shaping and responding to their customers’ needs, not in a once-and-for-all decision, but in an ever-evolving give and take with their customers.
The strongest brands concurrently create the society we live in and allow society to re-create them. Like a living being, a brand influences and responds to the world around it.
You might say our favorite brands are like good friends. We like being associated with them, and they’re always on our minds.
What’s your favorite brand? Is it the culture of the brand that attracts you? Or is it something more personal, like how it makes you feel?
